| You're probably
asking who Joe Manio is. Cuz you probably know who *I* am already.
juss check the inf section. Well, a cha-cha dance
move is named after him. I first learned the move in January 1996 for my
good friend Gemmilynn's Cotillion. It became my favorite move. In the same
month, i signed onto a local newspaper's online service called San Francisco
Bay Guardian Online. juggling a few handles back and forth and trying
to sound like a real name, i decided to use Joe Manio. ya
see, the SFBGOL required that u put in a real first and last name. but
yah, u get what i mean. eventually, the policy changed and everyone started
to have IRC/AOL kinda names. since i wanted to stay unique, i decided
to keep the Joe Manio nick and since then, it has stuck...
Juss for a fact, i believe i mighta tracked down a candidate for the real Joe Manio. i think he is a photographer for "AsiaWeek" magazine and he went to San Francisco State University. I also did some searches on the net and the pages that come up usually have photographs taken by him. I've also received some e-mails asking if i know any distant/long-lost relatives with the Manio name. *doh* Last thing, Gerard Reyes and Joe Manio are two different names, but they are both identities of me. The real name of the creator of these files is Gerard Reyes. heh. juss had to clear that up. Cuz there have been many times where people have confused "us two" and e-mailed "us" separately. |
